Revisiting pen and ink

I’ve been working in watercolor for several years now, almost exclusively, and it’s well overdue to explore some other techniques. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked in pen and ink. Most of my prep sketches for paintings have been done in pencil or monochrome watercolor, and I’ve been out of practice in doing pen and ink drawings. But they were my primary means of jotting down visual ideas and sketches when I was younger.

What’s exciting about revisiting these techniques is the changes in equipment I have found since I last did some drawings. A much wider range of pens to choose from, and much cheaper than they once were. It’s great discovering new techniques.
