Holiday spending prospects better, mean a good Real Estate Investing first quarter in 2010?
According to a survey by Information Resources Inc (IRI), a market research firm tracking consumer spending habits and demographics, U.S. holiday shoppers are more inclined to spend in 2009, but still, to the surprise of noone, intend to hunt for bargains and deals. About 77 percent of participants in the survey said they were willing to splurge on a gift for the 2009 holiday season even if times are hard and frugal. For retailers, the 2008 holiday season was the stingiest in nearly four decades, as consumers faced a financial market crisis and housing slump that touched nearly every demographic.
