So just exactly how much time should you allow for your abdominal muscles to rest in between each work out session? The answer varies, depending on your specific circumstances. If you are new to working out and you get really sore, you may need a few days to rest. Quite possibly even as much as seven days of rest is not unheard of. But if you are accustomed to working out then perhaps 48 to 72 hours may be sufficient. There is no hard and fast answer, but these are just some general rule of thumbs.
