Portable Rockwell hardness tester has its application is various sections in the industries. Where heat treatment is done to the metal controlling of their quality requires hardness testing. This is done with the portable testers. Inspection of materials that are incoming requires hardness testing also. Weld evaluation of alloys & steels can also be done with Rockwell testing. Grade of hard plastic can be verified by Rockwell testing. For plastic the Rockwell scale is obviously different than that of metal. Failure analysis in different stages of manufacturing also needs Rockwell testing. Since the process is portable it is very convenient & small measuring instruments are invented for convenience.
