HOW DO WE PRODUCE SUCH A NICE SOUND? LET ME TELL YOU!
Let's begin at the beginning! I used to do pro-sound for 4
or 5 years. I am very particular about the sound that we put out. If it does
not sound right, it will drive me crazy. That takes us to about 1 year ago.
When we started to do this, I went out and researched the equipment that we
were going to need. Starting with the amplifier. The amp is the main
component that CAN make or break a great sounding system. There are numerous
amplifiers/mixers out there that can do the job and do it well. But, I
wanted to have what I would think as the BEST as the centerpiece of our
sound system.
That brings us to Soundcraft! Soundcraft has a very long
and storied history in sound. I heard that they put out a unit called the
GigRac 600/1000. My wife and I took my laptop into the store (won't mention
any names, but it starts with Guitar and ends with Center :) ), had them
hook it up to the amp a couple sets of speakers, a mic. Ann sang some songs
with varying ranges, and I found that center piece. Done Deal Right?
NOPE! We tried out two sets of speakers. I settled on the Kustom KPC15
duals. Very nice sound! Bass was hitting. Nothing would stop me from getting
those. They are some huge speakers, but they do the job very well. In our
next sets of shows (which are currently being worked on), you will actually
probably see that we are going to go with the single 15's. But, we will see
after I have a chance to try a pair out. Kustom puts out some awesome sound.
In addition to all that, we also run an HP laptop, Vocopro Mics (very
nice in their own right).
What it boils down to is this......I was very picky when setting up my
show. We also take pride in our light show. Come on out and see for
yourself! Oh! And say hi to Cowboy Jim.
